At Invense, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Invense (the website at invense.co.in), you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We do not collect financial account details, brokerage credentials, or payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the Service - delivering personalized news feeds, analysis, and notifications
- AI Analysis - processing articles through our AI models for summarization, sentiment scoring, and stock and sector impact assessment
- Account Management - authentication, password resets, and email verification
- Improvement - understanding usage patterns to improve the Service
- Communication - sending transactional emails (verification codes, password resets) and optional product updates
3. AI & Automated Processing
Invense uses AI to analyze and summarize news articles. Here is how your data interacts with our AI systems.
- Your reading patterns may inform which articles and topics are prioritized in your feed
- We use third-party AI services (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) to process news content
- Your personal information (name, email, bookmarks) is never sent to third-party AI providers - only news article content is processed
- Your data is not used to train AI models
- AI-generated content is labeled as such within the Service

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

3b. Automated Processing
Invense uses AI to automatically analyse news articles and generate financial insights. This automated processing applies to publicly available news content - not to individual user profiles or personal financial situations.
This processing does not constitute solely automated individual decision-making under GDPR Art. 22. No decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individual users are made by automated means. AI-generated analysis is clearly labelled within the Service, and users can view, question, or report any AI-generated content at any time.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers - trusted partners who help operate the Service (email delivery, hosting, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements
- Authentication Providers - Google (and Apple, when available), when you use social sign-in. Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture URL with us; we store only your name, email, and a link to the profile picture
- Legal Requirements - when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Invense or others
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If your account deletion request is approved:
- Your profile and bookmarks are permanently deleted
- Your deletion request record is retained for administrative and audit purposes, with your email preserved but your account link removed
- Email delivery logs are retained for 90 days for debugging purposes
Providing your name and email address is necessary to create an account. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to use the Service.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data (available in your profile)
- Correct inaccurate information (edit your profile)
- Delete your account - submit a deletion request from your profile. Our team reviews it within 48 hours and you will receive a confirmation email once processed
- Export your data upon request
- Opt out of non-essential communications
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you additionally have the right to:
- Restrict processing of your personal data in certain circumstances (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including for news personalisation (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your EU/EEA country of residence if you believe your rights have been violated
Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
- API authentication uses JWT tokens with expiration
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Verification codes expire after 10 minutes with attempt limits
While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. Please keep your account credentials safe.
Data breach notification: In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay and, for EU/EEA users, within 72 hours as required by GDPR Article 33.
8. Children's Privacy
Invense is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the data.
9. Cookies & Tracking
Our web application uses session cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects when this policy was last revised.
11. International Data Transfers
Invense is hosted in India. When you use the Service, your data may be processed by our AI analysis providers, which operate infrastructure in the United States and other jurisdictions:
- OpenAI (GPT models) - United States
- Anthropic (Claude models) - United States
- Google (Gemini models & OAuth) - United States
These providers are contractually bound to handle data securely and, where applicable, operate under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent data protection agreements compliant with GDPR Chapter V. Your personal data (name, email) is not shared with AI providers - only anonymised news article content is processed by their models.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that data may be transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions.
12. For Users in India
Invense is operated from India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), you have rights as a Data Principal, including:
- Right to access - obtain a summary of the personal data we process about you
- Right to correction and erasure - request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of your data
- Right to withdraw consent - withdraw consent for any processing based on consent, through your profile settings or by contacting us
- Right to grievance redressal - if you are unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India
